So much research into paints, mediums, application methods and eyechips themselves – 4 months work in total to finally achieve a result that I am happy to share with you!
These are blank CoolCat BD-01 that I have hand painted using some amazing products.

Top Right: Moss Green x 2 pairs available
Middle Left: Basic Blue with Iris detail x 3 pairs available
Middle Right: Lovely Lavender x 2 pairs available

SPECIAL NOTES

These are hand painted, One of a Kind (OOAK) items and as such every single chip is slightly different. They are delicate, as with all eyechips, and should be handled with care.

When applying glue, use TACKY CRAFT GLUE, as recommended by me in my Tutorial – Removing and Replacing Eyechips. Only apply the glue as shown.

HowTo: Change eyechips on your Blythe

Very easy, and hopefully helpful!

HowTo: Blythe Makeup – Faceup using Soft Pastels

I’ll be doing more of the makeup/faceup tutorials in Spring/Summer. It’s winter right now in Melbourne, so getting bright sunny days that are not accompanied by gale force winds are rare, and they are needed to use Mister Super Clear (MSC) for spray matting between colour applications.

Enjoy!

Sponsor and Door Prize Announced!

It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce our Sponsor and Door Prize for the September 2011 Market.

As you may know, this is our one year anniversary of running the Market, and to celebrate, INDOLLGENCE has returned as a Market Sponsor.

Indollgence has donated a Limited Edition, 1st Anniversary Doll Leaves JAX RABBIT for our door prize!

You’ll be able to see Jax in person at the Market and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win this amazing super limited BJD and take him home on the day!

Jax is super limited, and an incredible addition to any BJD collectors family. Being a bunny, Jax is wonderful for so many photgraphic occassions, and super cute!

Intense Colour with Pastels

To get intense colours, powder the pastels, add a little water and mix to a smooth paste. Apply with a brush. Alternate horizontal and vertical brush strokes. Dry, seal, then do one more coat and seal again. Intense coverage with pastels!

HowTo: Body Swap – Pure Neemo on a Blythe

Swapping out the body isn’t too difficult. Once you have mastered head opening (see the Sleep Eyes Tutorial), you can do anything!

You’ll need the Body, Blythe Head, Nail Clippers, Elastic Bands.

In Person workshops are held in Melbourne. If you wish to attend, please get in contact.

HowTo: Lip Carving Basics

A new week, a new video tutorial for you!

This is my method of Lip Carving. There is no right or wrong way to lip carve. The only advice is be patient, practice often, and don’t be scared of trying something new.

HowTo: Removing the EyeMech

Something that needs to be done with any customisation work, is removal of the eye mechanism (eyemech).

It’s a good idea to remove the eyemech before sanding the face, redoing the eyeshadow, adding colour to the eyelids or spray matting your girl.

This tutorial shows you how to detatch the eyemech from the head, completely remove the eyeballs from the mech and from the posts, and then we put it all back together again.

Head opening is not shown in this tutorial – please see the Sleep Eyes Tutorial for head opening of an RBL.
